Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the efficient management and control of the Warehouse Operation whilst achieving agreed budgetary and service levels. Provide an effective and reliable service to customers whilst meeting all legal requirements. Responsible for organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, Hazardous materials and products to feed business operations and customer demand. In a small organisation, a Manager will take a more practical hands-on approach and undertake the various warehouse activities.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies.
  • Have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
  • Manage all warehouse logistics of inbound/outbound cargo.
  • Respond to and deal with customer communication by email and telephone.
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate.
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Oversee the chemical decanting bay and do daily level checks for in-house client.
  • Plan future capacity requirements.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment ensuring that Staff, stock, chemicals and food is stored safely.
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and storage systems.
  • Input and hold responsibility for Warehouse budget.
  • Act as Hazmat representative to support the safe, timely and cost-effective warehousing of General & Hazardous Materials in the warehouse
  • Perform safety inspections and investigate violations to ensure safety procedures are being followed and counsel managers and employees accordingly.
  • Arrange and oversee transport bookings that are sent and captured.
  • Keep track of new Hazardous products received in the warehouse and suitable for storage.
  • Ensure warehouse layout is updated when required.
  • Ensure Fire Drills, Fire Fighting equipment & permits are serviced and valid.
